The open world setting and third-person perspective set Witcher 3 on a different pedestal, giving you the freedom to not only explore new locations every time you launch the game but also making the use of Witcher 3 cheat engine, hacks, and tricks more rewarding. Since Witcher 3 is a single player environment, no one really cares if you cheat. To do so, go to 'The Witcher 3/bin/config/base' and locate the file 'general.ini'. Open this file and, directly below the existing lines, add the following line: DBGConsoleOn=true And then save. You'll now have access to the debug console by hitting the tilde key while in the game.
- I recently brought an nvidia gtx 970 just for the witcher 3. I get the Witcher 3 and new Batman game for free that comes out soon with the special promotion. At an earlier time, I used a gift card to buy the Witcher 3 on GOG and I can't seem to get my money back unless I sell one of the codes for money, but I rather get a refund than do that.
- The Witcher 3 - Wild Hunt provides the most legendary and realistic adventure that you can possibly imagine! Spectacular magic, fantastic creatures and mysterious prophecies condense into a stunning story that comes up with incredibly many monsters, witches and all sorts of other enemies.

Game won't launch via GOG Galaxy
When I click 'Play' in GOG Galaxy, nothing happens. The game won't launch.
I've tried rebooting my comp and trying again, but still nothing..
Does anyone know what might be wrong and how to fix it?
----------------------------------------------------
EDIT:
I just ran the 'VERIFY / REPAIR' and still nothing..
----------------------------------------------------
EDIT-2:
Okay, to hell with GOG Galaxy for now. I figured I'd launch the game with the other shortcut that was automatically added to my desktop when I installed the game, but it seems to have vanished from my desktop..
So I went to:
C:GOG GamesThe Witcher 3 Wild Huntbinx64
and sent witcher3.exe to my desktop as a shortcut.
Note: The previous desktop shortcut (that vanished) was named: The Witcher 3 - Wild Hunt
When I try run witcher3.exe (as Administrator) from my desktop, I keep getting these errors:
witcher3.exe - System Error
The program can't start because MSVCP120.dll is missing from your computer.
Try reinstalling the program to fix this problem.
I click 'OK' and then get this:
witcher3.exe - System Error
The program can't start because MSVCR120.dll is missing from your computer.
Try reinstalling the program to fix this problem.
WTF is going on??
Earlier this evening I was able to launch the game (via GOG Galaxy) and play for about 30 mins. (My very first time playing since I purchased it). I was able to do a manual save, and then right before I logged out I tried to do another manual save and it wouldn't let me, saying something about how I couldn't do that right now (don't remember the exact wording). But other than that, I was able to play just fine with no problems.
Now I'm getting all this BS with GOG Galaxy not working, vanishing shortcuts, and not being able to launch the game with the game's .exe.
The ONLY things I have done between my earlier play session and now are:
1) Installed Debug Console Enabler (ver. 0.3.1) by skomski (from NexusMods) by extracting the zip contents to:
C:GOG GamesThe Witcher 3 Wild Huntbinx64 (as per the instructions)
2) Ran 'VERIFY / REPAIR' via GOG Galaxy.
----------------------------------------------------
EDIT-3:
Did some Googling and found out where to download those missing .dll files, and where to put them. Rebooted, and tried GOG Galaxy again. It worked (sort of). After clicking 'Play' I got a small pop-up error message: MatchesCountError (with some random-looking numbers/letters/symbols)
If I click 'OK', nothing happens. If I leave it alone, the game launches after a few seconds.
The exact same thing happens when I try to run the game with witcher3.exe.
So.. I don't know. I just immediately exited out of the game. I'm afraid to play it with that error in case I get a corrupted save game, or some other problem..
I guess I'll have to go Googling again to find out what the hell that error is. I'm too tired and frustrated to deal with it at the moment (headed to bed now), but in the meantime, if anyone can shed some light on this, I'd really appreciate it.
----------------------------------------------------
EDIT-4:
I found out what the problem was. It's this Mod:
Debug Console Enabler by skomski
Apparently this is an old version that should NOT be installed. Why they didn't delete it, or at the very least add a warning in the description that it's outdated (with a link to the new one), is beyond me..
Anyway, here's the current, updated version:
Debug Console Enabler Updated by Skomski and Nalatroz and AloisManas
After installing this one, GOG Galaxy and witcher.exe are working properly now, with no errors.

This exploit allows you to earn around 1000 crowns per minute. Take the following steps:
1.Find the merchant at Hierarch Square in Novigrad and purchase all of his Shells and Sea Shells. Talk to him again after you have depleted his stock and you will find that he has more to sell. Keep buying as many as you can afford and carry.
2.Take the shells with you and visit the armorer, who is located next to the merchant. Dismantle your Shells to receive Pearls.
3.Sell the Pearls to the armorer until he runs out of money.
4.Meditate for 5 days. The armorer should have 1000 coins again. Sell him more Pearls.
5.Repeat the process as often as you like.

You can dismantle a Shell at the cost of 8 coins for each effort. The Pearl you receive can then be sold for 109 coins. Naturally, this only works during the daytime hours, as merchants aren't around at night.
How to make Money:
- Doing secondary quests is a good way to get cash: Witcher contracts usually have a reward tied to them.
- Selling items you don't use won't make you a millionaire, but it adds up over time.
- Diving and sailing is a great way to discover Smuggler's Caches, which contain treasures that can be sold, or money.
- Guarded treasures come with monsters attached. They're worth the effort, though. The special items found inside can be sold for decent amounts of money.
- There are multiple currencies in The Witcher 3, but merchants only accept Crowns. You'll have to trade the Orens and Florins you collect at Vivaldi's Bank in Novigrad – it's the building with the coin hanging above the door.

How To Import The Witcher 2 Save Games To The Witcher 3: Wild Hunt:
Many gamers are finding it difficult to make use of this process, in fact some are unaware of how exactly it is done. You can check out our guide on How To Import Your The Witcher 2 Saves To The Witcher 3: Wild Hunt.
Many gamers are finding it difficult to make use of this process, in fact some are unaware of how exactly it is done. You can check out our guide on How To Import Your The Witcher 2 Saves To The Witcher 3: Wild Hunt.
- First and the foremost thing, this Import process is supported only with PC version of The Witcher 3: Wild Hunt. At the start of The Witcher 3: Wild, you may or may not receive a message prompting you to import your saves.
- If you are among one of those who did not receive the message to import saves at the start of The Witcher 3: Wild Hunt, it's because your SAVE GAMES are not in the proper place. The Witcher 3: Wild Hunt wants your previous SAVE GAMES to reside in :
'Users[username]My DocumentsWitcher 2gamesaves'.
- Sadly, if you ever enabled Steam Cloud Save, they will reside in:
'Program Files(x86)Steamuserdata[userid]20920remote'
- So all you need to do is move them at the expected directory and start your adventure.

How To Disable 'Gamepad/Keyboard Detected' Message:
Go to your Witcher 3: Wild Hunt folder, then to '..The Witcher 3binconfigbase'. Now open the 'hidden.ini' file using Notepad. You will see two lines: edit 'LockControlScheme=0' to 'LockControlScheme=2' and those keyboard/gamepad notifications will disappear once you get back in the game.

Familiar Tattoo:
If you import your save from The Witcher 2: Assassins of Kings, you may find that Geralt has a tattoo. In The Witcher 2, he receives that tattoo during the course of completing the 'Hung Over' mission. When he wakes up the next morning with a tattoo, the player can either remove it or leave it where it was. If you import a save file after leaving the tattoo in place, look for the tattoo as Geralt is soaking in his bath near the start of The Witcher 3: High Hunt.

Witcher 3 Trainer Gog
- Complete the tutorials. They will acquaint you with the game's combat system, which has changed since the previous game. There's no better time to adapt to the differences.
- Venture off the beaten path and explore. If you stick to the roads, you're likely to miss out on opportunities to strengthen your character, which will mean the required quests are more difficult and perhaps frustrating than they should be.
- Side quests are worth doing. You can gain loot and easy experience points, especially when completing the basic quests available in White Orchard.
- Make sure that you equip and make use of powerful signs in combat, which can keep you from taking damage you might otherwise.
- Learn new potions at every opportunity and refill them often. You can do so by meditating, provided you have Alcohol or Dwarven Spirit items in your inventory. Potions will make your journey much simpler.

Easy money:
Before crossing the Woesong Bridge to leave the town of Midcopse, jump over the fence to enter a grass pasture with some cows. Kill all the cows at that location. It is recommended you use fire magic instead of your sword so you do not have to chase them. Then, meditate for two hours where you killed them by pausing the game, selecting 'Meditation', and advancing the time by two hours. This will force the cows to respawn. Kill the cows again, and repeat the process to accumulate a large number of cow hides, as well as meat for healing. Once satisfied, find the merchant near the road next to the cow pasture. Talk to the merchant, then select the 'Other' tab from his shop's inventory to find the 'Cow Hide' option to sell all of your hides to him. Repeat this process as many times as desired.
